Yamakado – Review

Hello everybody, Sanibonani, BonJour and welcome back to our website.

The Watkai and very good friends of ours Shaun and Jenny (who are recently married) went to a Japanese restaurant for all you can eat sushi.

We have been to this place before and decided to come back and actually review the place and it was as amazing as we first remember it.

Sean and Shaun (his name is also Shaun but misspelled, according to my Sean) they both had the buffet. Thandi and Jennifer had a variety platter.

Yamakado is based in Johannesburg North – Fourways in a centre called Cedar Square.

It’s a small, simple restaurant with a decently sized sushi conveyor belt.

It does get very busy, especially on Friday’s, so booking is advised. You can sit inside or outside, but the couple of times that I have been there it has gotten very cold in the evening so booking inside is probably better.

Our review of the restaurant is as follows;

Sushi:
8/10 – Wasn’t the best sushi but the quality for the price was outstanding

Atmosphere:
7/10 – It chilled, Asian feel to the place, simple. Have a decent sized sushi conveyor belt

Price:
10/10 – The all you can eat buffet is R 155 is unbeatable and the normal menu prices are really good

Service:
6/10 – The service is a bit slow however they are always busy.
The waitrons do sometimes forget what you ordered when it is busy

All in all we love Yamakado, and the food is great, especially for the price. We love going there whenever we feel the need for a sushi binge coming on.

Spread the love
